Studio 122 workshops consist of part lecture and part interactive forum focusing on providing simple tools and helpful information for enhancing health and well-being. We cover a range of topics from:

Eat by Choice, Not by Habit

Jack Kornfield says it so succinctly:
We don’t have to improve ourselves; we just have to let go of what blocks our heart.

Food is a means to treat our body. Many of us are habitually at war with our bodies (Sylvia Haskvitz). We treat our bodies in ways that we would never consider treating anyone else.

Unfortunately, we may be stuck in an eating pattern that we are not conscious aware of. Many times we are substituting food as a strategy to meet our essential universal human needs, needs for love, care, intimacy, comfort, protection, just to name a few.

Negative self-talk, convincing ourselves into denying food cravings, ‘shoulding’ ourselves (I should have not or I should have …) are established pattern that have been serving us somehow in our lives. A part within us thrives by the choices that we are making or have made. There are other parts within us that are hurting with these choices and wanting some recognition as well.

“According to Carl Jung: “Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses … we cannot change anything until we accept it” (Sylvia Haskvitz). Essentially, we are having a relationship with struggle rather than deepening our relationship or connection with our body and our needs.

My intention is to inspire you to deepen your self-awareness and to connect with your inner power. Not to share another way of dieting or living, but to inspire you to access your own authority, your own power, and your own food and body wisdom.

Discover the universal human needs you are fulfilling with your eating habits and acquire practical tools to transform your negative self talk, your relationship to food and gain deep understanding of the very good reasons for why you do what you do. Experience a journey of empowerment and transformation!

I'd like you to imagine eating or not eating, with a sense of harmony and balance because you are firmly connected with yourself, your feelings and needs. Therefore you are aware of a choice: to eat the ice cream with gusto, fully enjoying it because you choose too, or alternatively take a leasurely walk around the lake to relax. Either way, you are nourishing your body hence yourself.

Just imagine how tuning into your body, your needs and your feelings could help you create peace between you and your body, and support you in making conscious choices about the food you eat and the way you eat.

Instructor Bio:

Elana Sabajon, MA

I have worked in the field of education and communication for more than 20 years. Combining my background, unique facilitation style, and vast multi cultural experience, I deliver transformational workshops that produce lasting results.

I am a certified Trainer with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. I have shared this process both nationally and internationally.

My work includes schools, universities, churches, orders, prisons, nonprofit and profit organizations and parent groups. I also coach couples, families and individuals in these practices.
