Foundational Health Care is a set of 6 organizing principles that promote personal health and well-being.  These principles are preventive and universal for all of us.  Each principle is a focus and a daily practice that builds the framework for a strong foundation of health.  Practicing each of these 6 principles creates strength, balance and efficient function in our body and mind.

Play-based Fitness
Play-based fitness promotes health, positive physicality and physical happiness.  These movements are actually functional fitness "exercises" that appear as 'games'; they are fun, adaptable, scalable, and transformable.  These movements create cardio-, strength-, balance-, and coordination.  They create stresses that force the body to become more efficient (eg: "functional fitness").  In addition, the creativity and robustness involved in these games also strengthens the brain's functioning by increasing neurotransmitters and cell connections(neurogenisis).  These 'exercise games' can be scaled from the more delicate participants to the very robust athletes, allowing all ranges of participation.  When activity and fitness is fun, people will do it more often.  In addition, combining the safety of movement with others in a non-competitive format, participants can explore emotional and physical boundaries.  Innovative, creative improvisational activities is commonly called 'play' - therefore, we engage in "play-based fitness".
